I was actually aiming for the Basara II, which is a smaller version of the original Basara, but JKD ran out of stock. Coincidently, Kiku was coming to the states and brought this particular piece along with him.

Sejarah Pasukan Khas Udara (PASKAU) bermula pada tahun 1970-an selepas satu serangan oleh anasir pengganas komunis dari Parti Komunis Malaya ke atas pangkalan TUDM Kuala Lumpur menyebabkan kemusnahan sebuah pesawat  DHC-4 Caribou. Serangan itu dilakukan menggunakan sepucuk mortar yang dipasangkan di atas sebuah lori kecil.
Pasukan yang awalnya ditubuhkan dikenali dengan nama pasukan HANDAU (Pertahanan Darat dan Udara) dan ditugaskan menjaga keselamatan pangkalan-pangkalan TUDM. Dalam tahun 1996, pasukan ini disusun semula dan diberikan nama baru, iaitu Pasukan Khas Udara. Pasukan ini seperti komando tentera darat Grup Gerak Khas ataupun komando tentera laut. PASKAL, yang membezakannya ialah pengkhususan dari segi peranan utama dan tugasan pasukan-pasukan tersebut berbeza-beza.
